Basic Graph Theory with Applications to Economics

چکیده
Let N = {1, . . . , n} be a finite set. Let E be a collection of ordered or unordered pairs of distinct 1 elements from N . A graph G is defined by (N,E). The elements of N are called vertices of graph G. The elements of E are called edges of graph G. If E consists of ordered pairs of vertices, then the graph is called a directed graph (digraph). When we say graph, we refer to undirected graph, i.e., E consists of unordered pairs of vertices. To avoid confusion, we write an edge in an undirected graph as {i, j} and an edge in a directed graph as (i, j). Figure 1 gives three examples of graphs. The rightmost graph in the figure is a directed graph. In all the graphs N = {1, 2, 3, 4}. In the leftmost graph in Figure 1, E = {{1, 2}, {2, 3}, {2, 4}, {3, 4}}. In the directed graph, E = {(1, 2), (1, 3), (2, 3), (3, 2), (3, 4), (4, 1)}.

Application of the linear Differential Equations on the Plane and Elements of Nonlinear Systems, In Economics
In recent years, it has become increasingly important to incorporate explicit dynamics in economic analysis. These two tools that mathematicians have developed, differential equations and optimal control theory, are probably the most basic for economists to analyze dynamic problems. In this paper I will consider the linear differential equations on the plane (phase diagram) and elements of nonl...
متن کاملRelationship between topological indices and thermodynamic properties and of the monocarboxylic acids applications in QSPR
Topological indices are the numerical value associated with chemical constitution purporting for correlation of chemical structure with various physical properties, chemical reactivity or biological activity. Graph theory is a delightful playground for the exploration of proof techniques in Discrete Mathematics and its results have applications in many areas of sciences. One of the useful indic...
متن کاملApplication of Graph Theory: Relationship of Topological Indices with the Partition Coefficient (logP) of the Monocarboxylic Acids
It is well known that the chemical behavior of a compound is dependent upon the structure of itsmolecules. Quantitative structure – activity relationship (QSAR) studies and quantitative structure –property relationship (QSPR) studies are active areas of chemical research that focus on the nature ofthis dependency. Topological indices are the numerical value associated with chemical constitution...
متن کاملVULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT OF WATER DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS: GRAPH THEORY METHOD
The main functional purpose of a water distribution network is to transport water from a source to several domestic and industrial units while at the same time satisfying various requirements on hydraulic response. All the water distribution networks perform two basic operations: firstly the water network needs to deliver adequate amounts of water to meet specific requirements, and secondly the...
متن کاملClassification of encrypted traffic for applications based on statistical features
Traffic classification plays an important role in many aspects of network management such as identifying type of the transferred data, detection of malware applications, applying policies to restrict network accesses and so on. Basic methods in this field were using some obvious traffic features like port number and protocol type to classify the traffic type. However, recent changes in applicat...
متن کاملSegmentation of Magnetic Resonance Brain Imaging Based on Graph Theory
Introduction: Segmentation of brain images especially from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an essential requirement in medical imaging since the tissues, edges, and boundaries between them are ambiguous and difficult to detect, due to the proximity of the brightness levels of the images. Material and Methods: In this paper, the graph-base...
